How to run for a USG leadership position

Ready to make an impact on campus? Here are some things to know as you prepare for a role with USG:
- USG runs an elections process where president and vice president candidates’ campaign and run together. The elected individuals will then appoint the chief of staff, treasurer, director of communication, director of initiatives, and director of diversity, equity and inclusion with approval of the USG Senate.
- President and vice president candidates must be enrolled, degree seeking IU Indianapolis students and must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
- Check out the “Documents” section of the USG page on The Spot to review the current Constitution and Bylaws. There is also a “USG Elections” folder which includes a copy of the Elections Code and timeline.
