There are several ways to be a part of IU Indianapolis’s homecoming event. You can apply to be on Regatta Royalty for a chance at a scholarship, sign up your pup for the Dog Costume Contest, volunteer for academic credit, judge a contest, or be a part of the general board.

Ready to participate in Regatta’s 18th annual canoe race? The IU Indianapolis Regatta features the iconic half-mile canoe race on the Indianapolis Canal. Registration is open for teams of 4-6 participants, with a $155 fee supporting the event and student scholarships. All team members must complete a brief orientation and are encouraged to attend an optional practice session.
Registration is currently open and will close on Sept. 4 at 11:59 p.m.
Become Regatta Royalty
Regatta Court members participate in fall Regatta Week activities, judge the Dog Costume Contest, serve as ambassadors for our campus, and more. All applicants are welcome regardless of gender, major, or campus involvement.
Two students will be crowned Regatta Royalty at this year's Regatta, each receiving a $500 scholarship.
Eligibility requirements
- Be enrolled in the 2026 fall semester at IU Indianapolis.
- Have completed at least 26 credits.
- Have a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Demonstrate confidence, poise, and enthusiasm in representing IU Indianapolis both on and off campus.
- Exhibit strong communication skills and a commitment to engaging with students, faculty, alumni, and the community.
- Possess a positive attitude, school spirit, and the ability to serve as a role model for the Jaguar community.
