Graduate and Professional Student Government

Take an active role

Graduate or professional students at IU Indy with a minimum 2.0 GPA can join GPSG as representatives or alternates, chosen by their academic areas. Representatives attend General Assembly meetings, vote, and communicate on behalf of their areas, with compensation provided for meeting attendance.

Eligible students with a minimum 2.25 GPA can also run for positions like president, vice president, chief financial officer, secretary, and directors. Elections take place in April, where candidates present their platforms, and officers are elected by a majority vote of representatives.

Outside the executive board, members have opportunities to join GPSG’s ad hoc committees, serve as justices in the Court of Student Governance, or participate in university-wide committees—offering multiple ways to engage in campus governance.

Interested in getting involved with GPSG? Email us at gpsg@iu.edu and attend one of the General Assembly meetings. To see meeting dates and times, visit our page on The Spot.
