Dr. Jason T. Spratt joined the Division of Student Affairs in July of 2008. As associate vice chancellor and dean of students, he provides leadership and guidance to the following units: the Office of the Dean of Students (Student Conduct and Student Support), the Campus Center, Campus Recreation, Counseling and Psychological Services, Student and Family Connections, and Health and Wellness Promotion. 

Additionally, the dean of students provides leadership on the CARE team, a campus-wide team that provides consultation, makes recommendations for action, and coordinates campus resources in response to reports of disruptive or concerning behavior displayed by students, staff, or faculty. Dr. Spratt also represents the university on emergency preparedness issues as a member of the Incident Management Team and the Executive Policy Group for IUI.  The associate vice chancellor and dean of students also supports and provides advising to Jagathon, the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) and the Graduate and Professional Student Government (GPSG).

Dr. Spratt’s experience in Student Affairs spans 25+ years of experience at public, private, and international institutions of higher education. Prior to this position, Dr. Spratt served as the associate dean of students at the University of South Florida, associate director of Housing and Residence Life at Eckerd College, and director of Housing and Residence Life at Franklin College in Lugano, Switzerland.
 
Dr. Spratt is also an adjunct assistant professor for the Higher Education and Student Affairs Program at Indiana University. Jason began teaching on the Indianapolis and Bloomington campuses in 2015 and has taught courses on college and university administration, higher education law, and issues and problems in higher education and student affairs administration.
