Recognizing impact: Top student organizations and leaders honored at the 2025 Student Organization Awards

By:

Over 1,500 student-led events are hosted on campus each semester. To celebrate the hard work of our student organizations, their programs and their leaders, the Undergraduate Student Government (USG) puts on the Student Organization Awards each spring.

These awards highlight the significant impact our student orgs have made on the social and professional development of Jaguars, as well as major contributions to IU Indy.

At the awards ceremony in April, honorees were asked about the student orgs they’re involved in:

“In one word, I’d say our organization is stigma-reducing” – Sydney Davis, president of U Bring Change 2 Mind

“My favorite event this year was Cultural Night because we got to bring together all these different cultural organizations, do a fashion walk — and it was just really fun.” – Maya Elchal, president of the Middle Eastern Student Association

“Three emojis which describe Student Activities Programming Board (SAPB) would be: A Jaguar because SAPB brings the Jaguar pride to campus, the ferris wheel for Jagapalooza and the red heart because we are the heart of student activities at IU Indy” – Anish Bhawal, social media coordinator for SAPB
