Throughout the fall semester, Student Affairs units showed what our core values look like in action — being Committed, Student-centered, Data-informed and Collaborative. Together, our work strengthened student well-being, expanded access to essential resources and enhanced the vibrancy of campus life. Here’s how each value showed up this semester though the work of each team.

Committed
Student Affairs teams went all in to make sure Jaguars had the support they needed to thrive.
Campus Health offered a wide range of clinical and wellness services, including 12 pop-up flu clinics, 1,300+ vaccines, 564 TB screenings and 400+ N95 fit tests for health profession learners.
Housing and Residence Life maintained over 100% occupancy through October, completed 5,300+ work orders and are keeping multiple residence halls open during winter break at no extra cost — helping address housing insecurity during a high-need time.
The Dean of Students team continued providing essential support by distributing 13,000+ items through Paws’ Pantry and expanding access to loaner laptops.
CAPS remained committed to quality care by expanding clinical staffing and increasing appointment availability. Student feedback stayed consistently high, with 100% of students reporting they felt heard and respected by their provider.

Student-centered
Programs and services across the division were intentionally designed around student needs, equity of access and holistic development.
Health and Wellness Promotion reached thousands of Jaguars through programs that prioritized student well-being like Jags Eat Well, Sober October and No Vape November. Nearly 9,000 safer sex supplies were distributed and 561 doses of Naloxone were provided.
Counseling and mental health services expanded group therapy options, launched new support spaces for students with disabilities and increased trauma-informed care across campus.
Student organizations also played a huge role in campus life. Groups supported by the Office of Student Involvement — like ASU, BSU and LSA —hosted cultural programs, performances and philanthropic events that reached hundreds of students.
Jagathon alone raised more than $24,000 for Riley Hospital for Children and supported dozens of service events.
Fraternity and Sorority Life made a huge philanthropic impact this semester with a total of 4,277 community service hours logged and $43,598 donation dollars raised.
Campus Recreation enhanced the student experience with improved check-in technology and the opening of the Esports Lounge. Group exercise participation grew by more than 1,131%, showing just how much students value fun, inclusive ways to stay active.

Data-informed
Student Affairs used data to shape programs, track progress and make sure resources were being used where they mattered most.
IU Indy's student organization community continued to grow with 405 active student organizations, 352 re-registrations, 53 new groups and 1,800+ events approved in The Spot this semester.
CAPS used ongoing assessments to monitor access, timeliness and outcomes, showing improvements across nearly all satisfaction metrics. Students reported increased hope, confidence, academic stability and social comfort due to CAPS services.
Campus Health tracked compliance for 4,500+ health profession learners, monitored immunization rates and used text message reminders to help reduce missed appointments.

Collaborative
The semester was marked by deep, meaningful partnerships. Regatta brought together 22 campus units, 400+ volunteers, external sponsors, alumni, faculty, staff and students for one of IU Indianapolis’s most iconic traditions.
Programs like RISE, PSLE and CAPS partnered across divisions, academic schools and community organizations to support leadership development, meaningful dialogue and mental health education.
Looking ahead
Across every unit, our values shaped decisions, programs and new ideas. The impact is clear, from stronger student engagement to deeper connections across campus.
As we go into 2026, these accomplishments reinforce our commitment to creating a campus where every Jaguar can thrive academically, socially and personally.
